How long can I use the Snugglewrap baby carrier?

There is no weight or age limit for the Snugglewrap infant carrier because it draws your child’s weight into your body rather than dragging from your shoulders. While our infant carriers are most useful from birth until around 1 year, it remains comfortable for use beyond the first year. Keep your Snugglewrap handy for times when your older child is sick and clingy and needs to be held a lot. You’ll be amazed how comfortable it can be even with a 3 year old.

What kind of head support does it offer?

The Snugglewrap is the only infant carriers that we know of that actually supports a baby’s head against your body. It works similarly to the way your hand cradles a baby when you are carrying them close. Most baby carriers do not support the head but simply stop it from being able to drop backwards. The Snugglewrap baby carrier offers complete support for a newborn or sleeping baby’s head and neck using the soft, stretchy, wide shoulder straps.

Yes — the Snugglewrap infant carrier is easy to clean. You can machine wash your wrap in cold water and tumble dry regular. Depending on the color of your wrap, you may want to wash it separately at first, then after the first few washes, just throw it in with the rest of your laundry.

How do I take my baby out?

You simply part the front wraps that are over your baby’s body, place your hands under their armpits and lift them directly upwards. Your baby is always taken out of the Snugglewrap baby carrier before taking it off. It can be left on until you want to slide them in again.

Is the Snugglewrap baby carrier good for my premie?

The Snugglewrap infant carrier is perfect for premature infants because it is tied to fit your baby no matter how tiny or large! Your “premie” baby can be carried either upright with their head supported against the parents chest or in a lying position with absolutely no risk of the baby falling out. The Snugglewrap infant carrier can be worn under a shirt to provide skin-to-skin contact, which is often recommended with premature infants.

When can my baby face outward?

As soon as babies are able to hold their head up themselves (usually around 3-4 months), you can position them facing outward. Some babies love this position because it awakens their interest in the world around them. When wearing your baby facing out, you want to tie the Snugglewrap infant carrier a little more firmly, because your baby’s weight will move slightly away from you and stretch the fabric more than usual.

Isn’t it too hot in summer?

On hot days most of us do not love the idea of having a hot, sweaty infant wrapped to our body, but the Snugglewrap infant carrier is deceptively comfortable even in the summer. The fabric works like a t-shirt – It breathes and can be adjusted to cover less of your body and allow for the flow of air.
